Heating, Plumbing & Ventilation Project for a Local Popular Restaurant

Initial Challenge

The highly successful Italian Orchard restaurant in Broughton, Preston were adding a glass-fronted extension to their popular restaurant and had asked GOS Heating if they could help.

The restaurant sources as many ingredients for the menu directly from Italy and this was very much the case for all the materials for the project. With the majority of the trades and materials coming from Italy, GOS Heating were one of the few UK based company involved in the project and this was because of GOS Heating’s commitment to high-quality workmanship and reliability.

Approach

The client was clear on what they wanted and with a keen eye for design they left GOS Heating to design technical the aspects of the system, planning and subsequent supply and installation.

As the work was being done during the run up to Christmas, the restaurant had to stay open and so GOS had to be very flexible and work around the opening hours of the restaurant. There was an additional challenge in that in order to be authentic, the owners of the Italian Orchard had brought over their craftsman from Italy and so a lot of the communication on the project had to be done through Google translate.

GOS were responsible for a wide range of work including: the boiler, heating control, ventilation, bathroom sanitary ware, under flooring heating and more unusually the water pumps for the water feature. GOS had to design and have manufactured two specialist stainless steel chambers from a local fabricator which presented a number of technical challenges which were successfully overcome.

Given the Italian Orchard’s dedication to authenticity, a lot of the items to be installed by GOS were sourced from Italy and so knowledge and experience of connecting with European standard components was essential.

Outcome

The client was delighted with the work done and GOS are already working with them on other projects in the Preston area.
