Lyreco has achieved zero-waste-to-landfill targets across 100% of their sites. Their commitment to minimizing waste is a cornerstone of their operations.

Carbon Emission Reductions

Lyreco has reduced fleet carbon emissions by 32% between 2013 and 2021. Additionally, 99% of the electricity used across their sites is certified as renewable or sourced from renewable energy providers.

Sustainable Products and Packaging

• 100% Recycled Cardboard: Deliveries from Lyreco’s Telford distribution center use fully recycled cardboard, with efforts to reduce packaging where possible.
• 4,250+ Sustainable Products: Lyreco’s range includes over 4,250 products that meet their Sustainable Selection criteria, with 45% of products launched in 2023 being classified as sustainable.

Expanding Reuse and Recycling

• 62% of Waste Reused: Lyreco is expanding services to reuse and recycle, ensuring 62% of the waste they generate finds new life in other capacities.

Electric Fleet

• 67 Electric Vans Operated: Representing 21% of their UK vehicle fleet, Lyreco’s electric vans contribute to a significant reduction in carbon emissions.

Social Responsibility and Diversity

• Promoting Workplace Diversity: 33% of employees and 25% of the senior management team are women, while 3.7% of employees identify as black, Asian, or from other ethnic minorities.
• Mental Health Support: Since 2019, Lyreco has trained 8 Mental Health First Aiders, with plans to expand this initiative.
• Community Contributions: Lyreco has donated £300,000 to support social enterprises helping individuals with mental and physical disabilities return to work.

Green Energy Initiatives

• Solar Power Generation: In 2021, Lyreco generated 2.8 million kWh of green energy using 13,860 solar panels.
