A New Era for GOS Heating: Moving to The Thurlby Club
In 2023, GOS Heating marked the beginning of a new chapter by relocating from our beloved Strand Road offices. Staying rooted in the community that has supported and nurtured GOS for over 50 years was a priority. When the opportunity arose to move into the space above The Thurlby Club, just a short distance away, we embraced it wholeheartedly. This move not only allowed us to remain in the heart of the community but also offered a chance to contribute to the revival of a cherished local social club.
Our first step was to develop the site by building new office spaces and installing sustainable features such as solar panels and a heat recovery system. These improvements provided The Thurlby Club with access to renewable energy, significantly reducing their carbon footprint. Additionally, GOS collaborated with the club to renovate their disabled toilets and enhance the building and its grounds, ensuring it remains a welcoming and functional space for everyone.
Strengthening Community Bonds Through The Thurlby Club
Beyond physical improvements, GOS Heating actively engaged with the vibrant community events organized by The Thurlby Club. With no shortage of enthusiastic volunteers, our partnership with the club grew stronger through shared activities. From monthly quizzes to festive Christmas markets and children’s parties, GOS has proudly supported and sponsored these events.
Being part of The Thurlby Club’s initiatives allows GOS to stay deeply connected to the community, offering us opportunities to give back to the people who have supported us for over five decades. Our involvement underscores the values that drive GOS Heating—commitment, collaboration, and community spirit.
